Data in cultural institutions

The Me-Mind project (Museums and Events – Measuring Impact on local eNvironment with Data analytics) explored how data can help us understand the impact of culture. The project's partners included the Estonian National Museum as a representative of museums and the Pisa Internet Festival as an example of festivals, supported by data scientists from the University of Pisa and data visualizers from Domestic Data Streamers.

As part of the project, guidelines were developed for cultural organizations:

  • Impact Canvas for Cultural and Creative Industries - guidelines and worksheet
  • How to find, understand, and collect data in cultural organizations?
  • What data collection methods can cultural organizations use?
  • How can data be used in the decision-making process?
