From 28–30 January 2026, the Estonian National Museum hosted sTARTUp Day, the largest startup festival in the Baltics. Celebrating its 10th edition, the festival brought thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and creatives to Tartu to explore future‑oriented solutions together. The Estonian National Museum also took an active part in the event, contributing to the emergence of new ideas, collaborations, and forward‑looking projects.

ERMi Research Director Pille Runnel and Research Secretary Agnes Aljas led the workshop “Designing Impact: Games and Digital Cultural Heritage”, which explored how digital cultural heritage solutions and entrepreneurship can inspire one another. The session focused on games, digital creativity, and the ways cultural heritage can act as a catalyst for innovation.

Introduced were the materials of the projects Digital Cultural Heritage as a Societal Resource and i‑Game, as well as the co‑creation platform for games.

In addition to the workshop, participants were invited to join a guided tour of the museum and received an overview of ERM’s digital development initiatives — showcasing how the museum is creating new opportunities for experiencing, using, and interpreting cultural heritage.
